COLD WEATHER BIRDS

Another cold day at the farm and a variety of birds are turning up which must have somethging to do with the weather. The Ruff, first seen yesterday, showed itself today, feeding in a ruderal area by the south lake, a Curlew appeared there as well but made off quickly. Later on, Grey Plover and Pintail over were scarce sightings at Beddington.

Quite a large bird so probably a male

Dodge stalking the Ruff with his bazooka lens

Dunlin on ice. It seemed to be picking something up from the surface

Teal waiting for the thaw

Two Grey Plover went over. Note the black armpits

The 2w Iceland Gull only showed in flight today
